This is truly a shame. Pure idiocracy. The size of some peoples’ heads is remarkable. I felt the exact same way when they (they being Macy’s) took away a slice of my childhood I hoped to share with my children someday.
I was a fashion major in my second year when I heard the news that Marshall Field’s was being bought and subsequently renamed and rerouted as a Macy’s tag. I decided immediately to boycott. I since, have not stepped foot in a Macy’s and refuse to do so, especially in the case of the famous State Street store where I spent so many of my childhood memories. Now this?!
Joseph J. Plumeri, chairman and CEO of Willis Group Holdings, said this in a statement he released: “Having our name associated with Chicago’s most iconic structure underscores our commitment to this great city, and recognizes Chicago’s importance as a major financial hub and international business center. We are delighted to be making this bold move and firmly establishing our leading presence in one of the nation’s biggest insurance markets, and it will be wonderful for all our associates to work under one roof.” … I’m thinking he needs to stay in London because he obviously has no clue that there is not a warm-hearted welcome wagon awaiting him and his “bold move” here.
Down with Willis Tower!… I mean, “Whatchu talkin’ bout, Willis?”
